To get the same look at the Ella demo, there are a few modules we have to set up first. I’ll also let you know of a few different configurations you can do.
Set up like the demo
- In the Admin Dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize
- In the Ella Settings, make sure the Homepage Post Carousel is set to Display
- In the Ella Settings, make sure the Carousel Post Title is also set to Display
- In the Customizer, go to Widgets > Homepage and click on Add a Widget
- Select Genesis eNews Extended and set it up properly (Find the appropriate tutorial for your mailing list provider here!)
- In the Admin Dashboard, go to Settings > Reading and in the Front Page Display settings, make sure Your Latest Post is checked.
Set up with a different slider plugin
- In the Admin Dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize
- In the Ella Settings, switch the Homepage Post Carousel to Don’t Display
- Install the slider plugin of your choice
- In the Customizer, go to Widgets > Homepage and click on Add a Widget
- Add the slider as a widget, either as a shortcode in a Text widget, or as an already working widget.
- Add the Genesis eNews Extended and set it up properly (Find the appropriate tutorial for your mailing list provider here!)
- In the Admin Dashboard, go to Settings > Reading and in the Front Page Display settings, make sure Your Latest Post is checked.
Set up without a blog
- In the Admin Dashboard, go to Settings > Reading and in the Front Page Display settings, make sure A Static Page is checked and select the page you want to be your homepage (usually that’s just an empty page called Home)
Please note that we don’t support third-party plugins, so if you do decide to install another slider plugin, we won’t be able to help you set it up properly. You will have to hire someone to help you out with this if it doesn’t work.
